Bruce Mau: Spread 18by ~ambportfolio

This was the final project in my Computers in Design class. The assignment was to pick a contemporary designer, research them, and then create either a book or calendar based on your research.

After looking through all the different medalists on the AIGA website, I chose Bruce Mau. I was really impressed by the work he'd done, especially in his use of typography in various projects. Through the library, I got a copy of a number of books his studio had designed. These included ReMembering the Body, Massive Change, Spectacle, Life Style, and S,M,L,XL.

On his website, Bruce Mau had a list of 43 tips to become a better designer; he calls it his Incomplete Manifesto. I designed this book using that manifesto, illustrating each with Bruce Mau's work, stock images, and my own photography.
